PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CRIMINALS
Cybercrime is on the rise worldwide, even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic, as criminals are taking advantage of the increased shift to digital. Satrix has also been targeted by fraudulent groups posing as credible Satrix groups on WhatsApp and Facebook.
It is very important to stay informed and be alert to prevent yourself from becoming a victim.
LOOK OUT FOR WARNING SIGNS
When interacting with financial institutions on social media, always be very careful with your personal information. Criminals posing as Satrix go to great lengths to make their fraudulent WhatsApp or Facebook groups look authentic - they even copy material, photos and contact names from the official Satrix website.
These are some warning signs to look out for.
- A promise of unrealistic returns
- A guarantee of specific investment payouts
- A cell phone number you can call
- A request on WhatsApp
- A bank account linked to an individual
- A request for your personal and banking details
- Suspicious URLs
