South Africa, 27 September 2022Mustard Seed has partnered with Satrix, South Africa’s leading provider of index-tracking products, to bring engaging investing, leadership and entrepreneurial content to young professionals through two interactive events. 

Known for facilitating mentorship access through networking events and engagements, Mustard Seed provides a digital platform of support, leadership and mentorship for discerning young entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals on a career change journey. The organisation focuses on engaging its audience on topics which include investing, leadership, career growth, entrepreneurship, and venture capital. 

These engagements take place via social media platforms and through two in-person events held in partnership with Satrix.

On 22 October 2022, Mustard Seed will host its first event in partnership with Satrix, titled Venture Capital 101. In this session Duma Mxenge, Business Development Manager at Satrix, will lead the investments discussion with a deep dive into all things indexation. He will break down some of the technicalities of index investing, talk about the differences between exchange traded funds (ETFs) and unit trusts and the benefits of incorporating these in your investment portfolio. 

Thandeka Xaba CA (SA), Managing Partner at Digital Africa Ventures will co-host the discussion with Mxenge, exploring the basics of venture capital (VC), explaining the different funding rounds and the general criteria necessary for entrepreneurs to attract VC funding. Both hosts will take audiences on their investing journey.
