Satrix decided to appoint a single administrator, Easy Equities, to give all Satrix clients the benefits of the online platform, including a reduced platform fee. Satrix has therefore moved all Satrix Investment Plan clients to SatrixNOW.

This enables us to offer you the platform service at a lower cost and we encourage investors to use the online functionality. However, we do understand that some clients may be unable to access Satrix digitally, and we will make an allowance for a manual process. Manual processing of forms will incur an additional administration cost of 5 basis points (0.05%) per annum.

Can I still invest in a Tax Free Savings Account?

Tax-free Savings Accounts on SatrixNOW:

On SatrixNOW, you will be able to login and toggle between your standard and TFSA accounts. You will have a clear view of the holdings in each part of your account, and an inter-account transfer function allows you to transfer cash from your Standard account to TFSA. You will be able to download separate statements for each. You will also notice each has a unique account reference number, which helps to correctly allocate your deposits. 

SatrixNOW will also remind you of how much you are still able to contribute to tax-free savings for the current tax year. The contribution limit is currently R36 000 per tax year.

How will my cash account work on SatrixNOW?

Because SatrixNOW has no minimum investment amount, you will no longer have a cash account for each fund that you hold. Rather, you will see one cash balance in each of your Standard account and/or Tax Free Savings account.

  • When your account moves to SatrixNOW, all cash balances that you hold will be consolidated into either your Standard or Tax Free Savings account. You will be able to log on and invest these cash balances in the fund(s) of your choice.
  • To make a lump sum investment, you will first deposit into your Standard or Tax Free Savings account (you can also deposit into your Standard account and then transfer cash to your Tax Free Savings account using the “Inter-account transfers” functionality)
  • When you sell units, the cash will settle in either your Standard or Tax Free Savings account. You will be able to view your withdrawable funds on your Account Overview and can instruct a withdrawal to your bank account.
  • If you set your Distribution preference to “pay out”, they will be paid into your cash account (once fees have been deducted). You can then choose to invest them in the fund(s) of your choice, or withdraw.

I have a Linked Account – what do I need to know?

You can access any accounts linked to your own by logging in to SatrixNOW and navigating to “My Profile”, “Associated Accounts”.

You will see on the “Account Access” tab a list of all accounts you have linked to. Choose the account you wish to access and select the “Use this account” button. Depending on the permissions granted to you, you will be able to view and/or instruct transactions on behalf of this account holder.

I have a Joint Account – what do I need to know?

The SatrixNOW platform recognises the ID number associated with the account as the account owner.

The account owner no longer requires any permissions or approvals to transact.

You will be able to download separate statements for each. You will also notice each has a unique account reference number, which helps to correctly allocate your deposits. 

SatrixNOW will also remind you of how much you are still able to contribute to tax-free savings for the current tax year. The contribution limit is currently R36 000 per tax year.

What are the key dates I should be aware of?

How will my cash account work on SatrixNOW?

Because SatrixNOW has no minimum investment amount, you will no longer have a cash account for each fund that you hold. Rather, you will see one cash balance in each of your Standard account and/or Tax Free Savings account.

  • When your account moves to SatrixNOW, all cash balances that you hold will be consolidated into either your Standard or Tax Free Savings account. You will be able to log on and invest these cash balances in the fund(s) of your choice.
  • To make a lump sum investment, you will first deposit into your Standard or Tax Free Savings account (you can also deposit into your Standard account and then transfer cash to your Tax Free Savings account using the “Inter-account transfers” functionality)
  • When you sell units, the cash will settle in either your Standard or Tax Free Savings account. You will be able to view your withdrawable funds on your Account Overview and can instruct a withdrawal to your bank account.
  • If you set your Distribution preference to “pay out”, they will be paid into your cash account (once fees have been deducted). You can then choose to invest them in the fund(s) of your choice, or withdraw.

I have a Linked Account – what do I need to know?

You can access any accounts linked to your own by logging in to SatrixNOW and navigating to “My Profile”, “Associated Accounts”.

You will see on the “Account Access” tab a list of all accounts you have linked to. Choose the account you wish to access and select the “Use this account” button. Depending on the permissions granted to you, you will be able to view and/or instruct transactions on behalf of this account holder.

I have a Joint Account – what do I need to know?

The SatrixNOW platform recognises the ID number associated with the account as the account owner.

The account owner no longer requires any permissions or approvals to transact.
